What are Pre-Dispute Alerts?

 

Pre-Dispute Alerts enable participating issuers to notify merchants of a dispute in progress.The merchant is then given a window of time (24 hours for Ethoca, 72 hours for Verifi) to refund the transaction or resolve the dispute on their own before a chargeback is raised. PayShield integrates with Alert providers Ethoca & Verifi to deliver Alerts for specific transactions (confirmed fraud and customer disputes) that will result in a chargeback unless appropriate action is taken. The PayShield dashboard allows merchants to action Alerts and sends the outcome to issuers in near real-time via API.
